A Therapist’s Perspective on Money, Behavior, and Long-Term Wealth
Kevin Crabtree, LPC, is a professional therapist and financial literacy advocate who has spent more than 25 years studying how ordinary people build lasting financial success.
What began as a psychology assignment in the year 2000 became a lifelong pursuit. While studying human behavior, Kevin became fascinated with a simple question: How do regular people become financially successful over time?
Instead of focusing on Wall Street investors or high-income earners, Kevin chose to study everyday individuals who built wealth gradually through consistent habits, thoughtful decision-making, and a clear understanding of financial principles. Over the years, he examined how people navigated taxes, education, purchasing homes and vehicles, retirement planning, and long-term investing.
This research revealed a powerful truth: wealth is often built not through extraordinary talent, but through steady thinking and simple mathematical principles applied consistently over time.
As a therapist, Kevin has also witnessed the emotional side of money — the anxiety, conflict, and stress that financial challenges can create for individuals and families. Experiences such as bankruptcy, divorce, addiction, and financial uncertainty often carry deep psychological consequences that traditional financial advice rarely addresses.
Through his work and writing, Kevin brings together these two worlds: financial literacy and human psychology.
His book, The Psychology of Math-Based Investing, explores how understanding both the numbers and the emotional behaviors behind financial decisions can empower people to build wealth gradually while creating greater stability and peace in their lives.
Kevin’s own financial journey reflects the principles he teaches. Without ever earning an unusually high income or relying on complex investment strategies, he followed the same steady mathematical principles he had studied for decades. Today, he is on track to retire early as a multi-millionaire.
Kevin’s mission is simple: to offer people a realistic message of financial hope.
By understanding the psychology behind money and the mathematical foundations of investing, he believes that ordinary people can create extraordinary financial futures — one thoughtful decision at a time.

Kevin’s Philosophy
Kevin believes that building wealth does not require genius, luck, or extreme risk. It requires patience, discipline, and an understanding of how simple financial principles compound over time.
His work focuses on helping people reduce financial anxiety, make clearer decisions about money, and build a path toward long-term prosperity and peace.
